DESCRIPTION
Moog Grandmother brings the beloved sound of Moog synths in a semi-modular package, making it suitable for both more traditionally oriented musicians and sonic experimenters. You can play it right out of the box without using a single patch cable.
On board are a pair of analog oscillators based on the Moog Minimoog, a 4-pole ladder filter, a 1-pole high pass filter, an envelope generator, an LFO with audio rate capability, an attenuverter and a VCA based on the Moog 902.
The analog sound is complemented by a true spring reverb located inside the body. You can use the reverb, as well as perhaps a filter, to process external instruments.
In addition to the instrument input, MIDI (in/out/thru), USB and main output, we find a total of 41 patch points on the Moog Grandmother, which are used to either connect the Grandmother's own sound modules or to integrate them into a modular system. All internal connections can be cancelled with patch cables, leaving your hands completely free.
There's an arpeggiator and built-in sequencer that can be synced via MIDI or clock. In addition, three sequences can be saved and recalled at any time using a three-position switch.
The synthesizer features a Fatar keyboard with 32 keys and dynamic sensitivity. On the left side you will traditionally find the modulation and pitch wheel.
The Moog Grandmother is an excellent analogue synthesizer that can be used on its own, or perhaps with a fellow Mother 32 or Moog DFAM. It will also work great with Eurorack and, thanks to MIDI and USB, with your DAW.
