The Modern Pop Drums Certification Program is a structured, song-based course designed to take beginners to confident, performance-ready drummers. Students develop posture, grip, timing, coordination, and groove by playing real pop songs from day one. Throughout the program, students build strong rhythmic foundations, learn how to maintain steady beats, add fills, manage dynamics, and perform with modern pop arrangements. The course focuses on practical application inside full musical contexts, allowing students to understand how drumming supports and drives a complete song. Students also develop coordination between hands and feet, improve timing accuracy with a metronome, and gain the ability to adapt their playing across different styles and song structures. Recording techniques and performance preparation are introduced to help students transition from practice to real musical situations. By the end of the program, students can groove with precision, create expressive fills, play complex rhythms, and perform or record drum parts confidently in professional environments.
Certification
Certification is optional. To obtain it, students must pass a paid private one-on-one test in our pro studio with their instructor.

Module 1 — Foundations of Modern Pop Drumming
In this module, students learn proper posture, grip, and basic rock/pop drum beats. Timing exercises introduce quarter, eighth, and sixteenth notes, while simple fills and playing along with a metronome reinforce rhythm control.
Students practice accompanying easy pop songs such as Another One Bites the Dust (Queen), Seven Nation Army (The White Stripes), Yellow (Coldplay), and Billie Jean (Michael Jackson).
By the end of this module, students can play steady pop beats and simple fills in time with songs.
Module 2 — Groove, Coordination & Fills
This module develops hand and foot independence, syncopated grooves, hi-hat variations, and snare/tom fills. Students learn to follow song dynamics and read simple drum charts, building the coordination needed for more complex rhythms.
Repertoire includes Uptown Funk (Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars), Smells Like Teen Spirit (Nirvana), Superstition (Stevie Wonder), and Car Radio (Twenty One Pilots).
By the end of this module, students groove confidently with full pop rhythms and simple song fills.
Module 3 — Advanced Performance & Creativity
In this module, students focus on advanced syncopation, ghost notes, drum solos, and creative fills. They learn to play with dynamic control, handle tempo changes, transitions, and full band tracks, and record drum performances professionally.
Repertoire includes Don’t Start Now (Dua Lipa), Can’t Stop the Feeling! (Justin Timberlake), Locked Out of Heaven (Bruno Mars), and Good as Hell (Lizzo).
By the end of this module, students are performance-ready drummers with strong groove, expressive fills, and creative confidence.
